Emilio De Marchi understood the literal nuts and bolts of cycling, so it's no surprise that the Italian manufacturer has continued his tradition of addressing the real, practical concerns of cyclists in a straightforward manner. The jersey's hydrophobic polyester construction means that the Hybrid Thermal not only wicks interior moisture, but it also puts up a fight against rain and road water from the outside. Although the soft, fleecy interior might make you think the Hybrid leans toward the casual sweater end of the spectrum, its ripstop qualities and flatlock stitching pull it back toward sporting applications. Its slim fit also recommends it for cycling, running, or any other form of cross training as a standalone top or a shell or base layer. The lockable quarter-inch zipper will stay in place when the zipper is down, but easily unzips when unlocked for one-handed operation when things are heating up due to either a hard effort on the bike or a hot toddy at a holiday party.
